Wuhan Challenge

Orient Golf Club  - Wuhan - China

15th - 17th June

June 16th. A day to forget. Missed the cut.

There are days in golf when nothing goes your way, putts lip out, a reasonable shot takes a bad bounce and goes into the water, etc. That´s golf.

So, done here and leaving for Germany tomorrow.

Looking forward to Javea next Friday where I´ll be doing a clinic with the proceedings going to the local orphanage.

June 15th. Round 1: Even and T23rd.

Miserable day, overcast and raining.

Started off well -2 on the 4th, but then had two encounters with the water. Recovered well and managed to keep it together.

The forecast for tomorrow says no rain, so let´s hope the sun shines!

June 14th. Practice day

Weather has been drab, rained Monday and there was a Pro Am, so today will be my only practice round on the course. I hope the weather gets better.

The course is narrow and everything is really wet at the moment, so it´s hard to say what the ball will do if and when it dries out.

Tee off is at 12:20 tomorrow, 06:20 European time, so I doubt whether I´ll need to wear my football scarf.

June 12th. Arrived in Wuhan

Had a bit of a celebration last night, it being my birthday and finishing strong in Hong Kong.

Arrived in Wuhan, which is a small place you may never had heard of with just over .... 10 million people! What an amazing place right on the intersection of the Yangtze and Han rivers!

We are really deep in China here and it is rare to find anyone that speaks any language besides Chinese, so getting around is quite an adventure.

Tournament starts on Thursday.
