Ricoh Ladies British Open
Kingsbarns Links- Scotland
3rd- 6th August
August 4th. Did not make it: +2 today.
Disappointed not to have made the cut, but I have to take the positive with me and learn from my mistakes. My long game is as good as anybody´s, only missing 3 fairways in the two days and I was putting for birdie 75% of those 36 holes. It was down to putting and avoiding those killer 3 putts.
I need to grow my mental game.
Still, it was great to take part in such a venue and I know I´ll be back next year!
Now it´s time for some down time between walking in the mountains in Andorra and wind surfing in Spain.
August 3rd. My first round in a Major: +1 T94th
My first round in a Major took 6 1/2 hours with play suspended twice, rain and wind and finishing so late that it was almost dark.
I played very solid golf given the conditions, I was 2 under after 3 holes, but lost the momentum after play was suspended on the 6th and again on the 10th. After the second suspension, a shot into the green on the 10th slightly off target cost me a bogey and one on the par 3 12th a double.
At the moment I´m a shot off the cut, but I´ll come fighting out of the corner tomorrow!
Tee off is at 9:30 (10:30 CET).
August 1st. Official practice day:
Teeing off at 10 for a last practice round with Christie Kerr and Morgan Pressel.
The weather is supposed to be OK tomorrow, but showers and windy on Thursday and Friday. It´s really a question of luck whether you are hit by lashing rain and gale winds or enjoy sunshine.
July 30th. Arrived at St Andrew´s for the Open:
From West Scotland to East Scotland. Registered at Kingsbarns. Impressive event with everything in place. Starting work tomorrow with a full day of training and playing the course.
What I have seen are very very undulated greens, which promise to be lots of fun when the wind picks up!
