Hong Kong Ladies´Open
Hong Kong Golf Club Old Course - Fanlin - Hong Kong
9th - 11th June
June 11th. Final day, -5, -8 overall Tied 4th, but worst Birthday Present Ever on the 18th!!
Happy with a good round, but check out what happened to me on the last hole. I was -6 for the day, 2 shots back at -9 going into the 18th. The leader dropped a shot to finish on -10. I needed a birdie on the last to get into a play off.
Watch what happens on 00:45 of the video.
June 10th. Round 2. -4, -3 overall, cut made.
A clean card today with no bogeys. I was much more accurate and hit fairways and greens.
The first 9 are tricky and I was concentrating on not dropping shots and stayed patient although the putts were not dropping and birdied the last three holes in the end.
Having gone out earlier today, it was not as scorching hot as yesterday.
Cut made and let see what I give myself for a present tomorrow: it´s my birthday!
June 9th. Round 1. Total: +1
Wasn't´t very accurate today, I´m still coming to grips with my swing changes. And I guess I was a bit aggressive with my putting the first 9.
The grass is very grainy and the greens are not easy.
It was soooo hot out there!!! I am glad I tee off earlier tomorrow and I´ll miss the worst of the heat.
June 8th. Practice day.
It is sweltering here, I like it hot, but it is taking a bit a of getting used to the abrupt change from freezing in England one day and then humid tropical hot here the next.
Tee off around noon tomorrow, so I am going to be out there in the worst of it!
June 7th. Practice day.
Beautifully located course. On the one hand it looks like carved out of the luscious jungle and then you look out to sea and you have a magnificent view.
Not an easy course, it´s not long, but you need to be very accurate. Any wayward shots can cause grief.
June 6th. Back in Hong Kong!
30º Celcius, what a change from freezing in England yesterday!
Missed the first practice day today, but I still have tomorrow and Thursday and I can remember the course pretty well.
