CTBC LADIES OPEN TAIWAN
Orient G & CC - Taiwan
1st - 3rd of September
It poured all night and to our dismay the course was flooded! The club worked very hard getting water out of bunkers and brushing it off greens. Tee off was delayed for four hours and we had to sit around twiddling our thumbs as even the driving range had to be closed. In the end the last round was reduced to just 9 holes.
I started off well with 2 birdies, but couldn´t keep it up and simply ran out of holes to make a rush for the top.
Finished T-11th overall at - 5 and I am now ranked 25th on the CLPGA.
Thank you CTBC for giving me the chance to play the tournament!
It was moving day and move I did, six birdies and two bogeys puts me at -4 tied for ninth.
I played solid, hit 15 greens in regulation, lipped out twice and only just missed an eagle putt on the last.
But there are some great scores out there, the level is really second to none. It will not be easy to keep climbing up the scoreboard tomorrow.
Finished level par. I was 1 under, but could not hold it in the end. 16 greens in regulation, but did not make the two up and downs.
Normally level par would keep you quite high up the leaderboard, but it shows you how good the playing field is: 72 shots puts me only Tied 30th!
Thank you for the Exemption CTBC!!!
I would like to publicly express my gratitude to CTBC for giving me the chance to play the tournament.
I was keeping my fingers crossed something would happen, specially on the plane on the way here, and now, just two days before the tournament, I know I get to play! Fantastic!
Great News: I get to play!!!
I have just received confirmation that I get to play after receiving a Sponsor Exemption!
It is fantastic as I felt awful at hoping that someone dropped out so I could get to play.
Now I just need to do well in the tournament.
Some very special hairy fans stalked me today!
I really did not expect anyone out on there today during my practice round, but these two were very insistent!
Change of Plan, I´m back in Taiwan!
Made a last minute decision and I´m in Taipei to see whether I get to play the CTBC Ladies Open. I´m first on the reserve list, but I took the chance and just hopped on a plane to here directly from Finnland. If I don´t get in it´s only about 20.000 kms for nothing! :)
I´d love to play this tournament, it´s a great venue co-sanctioned by the CLPGA and the TLPA.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!
